Wait...What’s pelvic organ prolapse?

Pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) affect one in three women, and nearly half by age 80, occurring when the pelvic floor muscles weaken over time or as a result of injury.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) specifically involves the descent of the uterus, bladder, and/or rectum into the vaginal canal. Up to 75% of women who have had a vaginal delivery will experience some degree of prolapse in their lifetime.

Until now, treatment options have been limited to poorly fitting pessaries and invasive surgical procedures.
